At the festival roundhouse at 18.08.2012 in South Westphalian Railway Museum in Siegen the 218 128-7 was presented on the turntable. The locomotive was 1971/72 built by Krupp under the serial number 5149, the phasing out was made on 27.05.2010.

On 15 February 2026 DB 218 321 quits Niebüll and passes the form signal post on her journey to Westerland (Sylt). From 1 May 2026 both C;lass 218 haulage and form signal post will have disappeared from Niebüll. 

DB 218 431 quits Lübeck Hbf with an RE to Bad Klkeinen on 15 February 2026 -the REs between Bad Kleinen and Lübeck were then almost all operated by Diesel locomotives Class 218. Four days later however, almost 2/3 of these trains were operated by DMUs. 
