The Fleche d'Or/Golden Arrow was a luxury train service offered for the better to do passengers between Paris and London via Calais. Between LOndon and Dover and Calais and Paris the travellers went by train; the Channel was crossed by luxury steam ship. The stairs in front of the loco will take the visitor into the repairs pit that gives a view on the wheelset of the loco.
