The SNCF BB 67 483 wiht a fast service to Paris in Dieppe

The already aged SNCF BB 67591 is pushing its TER for departure at the Strasbourg platform. The elegantly designed BB 67000, once seen everywhere, are slowly but surely disappearing from daily operations. In Strasbourg, some services during peak hours are still operated by the BB 67000. Since I started photographing in France, I've often seen the beautiful BB 67400 diesel locomotive. However, its area of operation has now shrunk considerably, providing a good reason to photograph the locomotive again specifically. In Strasbourg, a few SNCF BB 67400s are used in regional service with RRR trainsets. Since two RRR trainsets have the capacity of roughly three to four "modern" trains, and the round trips during peak hours cover very few kilometers, it's not yet "worth it" to use several new multiple-unit trains. This is likely the main reason why these elegant locomotives are still in service. In Strasbourg, the well-maintained SNCF BB 67599 is leaving the depot. March 12, 2024 
