Dopo l'abbandono da parte di NS, è stata fondata la ZLSM per salvare la linea per treni turistici con trazione a vapore e fino ad oggi, la ZLSM è sopravvissuta, sebbene come parte di uno sforzo regionale per aumentare i ricavi con un treno turistico in uno dei paesaggi più belli dei Paesi Bassi.

After ten years of restauration, ZLSM, ex VSM 52 532 is active again sincs May 2026. Here she stands at Schin op Geul on 19 August 2026 before a fully loaded steam train to Simpelveld. This train arrived 20 minutes earlier from Simpelveld, so a quick run round of the old steamer was on order -and performed perfectly.
