First off, the EXIF date is correct – the SBB RABe 522 210 is operating as RE 56 4560 on its way to Biel/Bienne, a good month after the timetable change and the conversion of the RE 56 Biel/Bienne - Meroux to the IR Biel/Bienne - Basel SBB! The solution to the puzzle: Presumably to connect the SBB RABe 522 trains still in service in the Jura region to the maintenance depot in Biel/Bienne, a train pair runs as RE56 from the Pruntrut region to Biel/Bienne and back from Monday to Friday. The SBB RABe 522 210 is traveling as RE56 4561 from Bonfol to Biel/Bienne and is leaving the MLB BLS station Grenchen Nord. January 13, 2026

Zunächst einmal ist das EXIF-Datum korrekt – der SBB RABe 522 210 verkehrt als RE 56 4560 auf dem Weg nach Biel/Bienne, gut einen Monat nach dem Fahrplanwechsel und der Umstellung des RE 56 Biel/Bienne - Meroux auf den IR Biel/Bienne - Basel SBB! Die Lösung des Rätsels: Vermutlich um die in der Juraregion noch im Einsatz befindlichen SBB RABe 522 Züge an das Wartungsdepot in Biel/Bienne anzubinden, verkehrt von Montag bis Freitag ein Zugpaar als RE56 von der Region Pruntrut nach Biel/Bienne und zurück. Der SBB RABe 522 210 fährt als RE56 4561 von Bonfol nach Biel/Bienne und verlässt den MLB BLS Bahnhof Grenchen Nord. 13. Januar 2026 
