SNCF Z 27516, operating as MOBIGO TER 894008, is en route from Belfort to Besançon Viotte and has arrived at Montbéliard station. Montbéliard lies on the Dole–Belfort line, opened in 1858, and is currently served by TER trains. Before the opening of the TGV line, however, it also had long-distance services, such as night trains from Luxembourg to Port Pou and the SNCF Tourbotrain multiple units from Lyon to Strasbourg. While on the left in the picture the SNCF 27672 and another as TER arrive in Lyon Part Dieu, the RENFE AVE 100 221-1 (9 6 71 9-100 221-1) arrives from the (former) Lyon Brottaux station, where the train is briefly parked was to provide the Lyon Part Dieu train station.
