Burlington Northern 9709 & 9689 pull an empty coal train across the Mississippi River and into the yard at Burlington, Iowa on 9 Apr 2005. The bridge swing span and tender shack are visible just above the lok cab. The other building is the sewage treatment plant.

A strange GP locomotive sits at the siding near the Burlington, Iowa depot on 11 June 2005. I think this is an old Santa Fe unit, it is the only one I have seen like this. It is probably not rare, just rare in this town.

Nearly brand new, BNSF units 5894 & 5895 sit at the siding near the Burlington, Iowa depot. Locomotives are parked here while their coal train is being unloaded at the power plant 5 miles south of town. 9 Mar 2006.
