Burlington Northern 9709 & 9689 pull an empty coal train across the Mississippi River and into the yard at Burlington, Iowa on 9 Apr 2005. The bridge swing span and tender shack are visible just above the lok cab. The other building is the sewage treatment plant.

BNSF 5370 and Canadian Pacific 5424 pull a mixed freight around the curve after just crossing the Mississippi River. Mile Marker 205 is visible in this snowy day photo on 13 Dec 2005.

A strange GP locomotive sits at the siding near the Burlington, Iowa depot on 11 June 2005. I think this is an old Santa Fe unit, it is the only one I have seen like this. It is probably not rare, just rare in this town.

Nearly brand new, BNSF units 5894 & 5895 sit at the siding near the Burlington, Iowa depot. Locomotives are parked here while their coal train is being unloaded at the power plant 5 miles south of town. 9 Mar 2006.
