On 17 september 2016 ex-DB 66 002 stands in the DGEG-Museum of Bochum-Dahlhausen. Class 66 was cut short to two examples due to the Dieselisation and electrification of the West-German railways in the 1950s and 1960s.

UEF's 75 1118 stands at Villingen (Schwarzwald) after having taken fresh water on 16 May 2026. Bacause steam loco don't run anymore in standard traffic, moststations have discarded their steam locomotive maintenance equipment, likt water hoses, so nowadays, for fresh water on steam locos, the local fire brigade are drafted in. But when one considers the scenes those brave souls of the fire brigade sometimes have to confront (like being to late to save all the lives...) one can imagnine that replenishing a steam loco's water supply is a rather more joyful assignment.
