The last train from Wiener Neustadt to Vienna on 15 September 2024 was this RailJet with mundane red 1216 006 pushing. From 14;00 that day, massive flods took out all railway lines to and from Vienna. Having arrived with 40 minutes delay from Murzzuschlag, this train will leave Wiener Neustadt with an extra hour delay whilst getting completely overcrowded. Next day, storm BORIS took out almost the entire Austrian railway network, sparing only the Tyrol.

ÖBB 1216 226 pushes a RailJet service Granz-Praha out of Brno hl.n. toward the Czech capital on 19 September 2024. The Czech railways showed a remarkable resilience by reinstating railway traffic as fast as they could after the desastrous floods of a few days earlier.
