A strange GP locomotive sits at the siding near the Burlington, Iowa depot on 11 June 2005. I think this is an old Santa Fe unit, it is the only one I have seen like this. It is probably not rare, just rare in this town.

Burlington Northern 9709 & 9689 drar ett tomt koltåg över Mississippi-floden och in på bangården i Burlington, Iowa den 9 april 2005. Brons svängspann och vaktstuga syns precis ovanför lokhytten. Den andra byggnaden är reningsverket.

Nearly brand new, BNSF units 5894 & 5895 sit at the siding near the Burlington, Iowa depot. Locomotives are parked here while their coal train is being unloaded at the power plant 5 miles south of town. 9 Mar 2006.

An old Burlington Northern unit 1507 remarked with BNSF lettering on the cab sits with a BNSF Heritage I paint scheme lok 2130 and a Santa Fe unit ? 2475 ? with the beginning of a freight train that would later go to Galesburg, Illinois. 27 Feb 2006. Hotel Burlington is at the right.
