NS 4201 bär en Olympisk reklamdekor i Maastricht den 13 september 2006, vilket inledde samarbetet mellan NS Reizigers och NOC (Nederländernas Olympiska Kommitté) som varade fram till 2014. 

On 3 March 1988 NS DE-II 171 quits Simpelveld to Kerkrade in the last year of NS operations on this Miljoenenlijn -a nice, but due to the geography rather expensive line to build. After NS left, ZLSM was founded to save the line for touristic trains with steam traction and op till this day, ZLSM has survived, albeit as part of a regional effort to raise income by a touristic train in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands. 
