IL 23 marzo 2017 la BLS 420 504 parte da Spiez con un treno Swiss-Express diretto a Interlaken Ost. In attesa della consegna dei nuovi elettrotreni, la BLS ha acquistato alcuni convogli Swiss-Express e Re 4/4II del primo lotto (11101-1115, riconoscibili dai pantografi singoli), ricreando così questi un tempo prestigiosi treni veloci SBB - sebbene con i colori BLS e per servizi regionali. 
