Più di un brivido ha attraversato la fraternità degli appassionati di ferrovie quando arrivò la notizia che Strukton aveva acquistato la sua prima locomotiva elettrica sotto forma della ex NS Reizigers 1824. L'11 ottobre 2019 la sensazione è stata vista a Nijmegen, affermando che i treni sono amichevoli per l'ambiente e che la 1824 sarebbe stata "Neutrale in termini di anidride carbonica durante il viaggio". 
