Völlig von den niederländischen Gleisen verschwunden sind die einst allgegenwärtigen TRAXX der Baureihe 186.0 und die ICR-Wagen. Am 26. Mai 2017 zieht die NS 186 018 einen solchen Zug durch Tilburg Oude Warande. Im Jahr 2018 nutzte die NS eine Sale-and-Lease-Back-Konstruktion mit Akiem, um Kosten bei den Lokomotiven zu senken, und ab Dezember 2025 wurden alle NS-Baureihe 186 an Akiem zurückgegeben, die keine Zeit verloren, das Gelb und Blau zu entfernen. 
