Noble over the Alps - a follow-up shot of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, which is just before the Pfaffensprung loop tunnel on the Gotthard railway on its way south.

What was barely visible in the previous picture now appears in full size: On the SNCF line Frasne - Les Verrières, an SBB RABe 561 NPZ is on its way to Neuchâtel as a TGV connecting train. The SBB NPZ is operating as RE 18123 on the journey from Frasne (departure 10:53) to Neuchâtel (arrival 11:53) at the level crossing PN 17 between La Rivière - Drugeon and Ste-Colombe in the French Jura.

Unlike the EW I coaches that run to Domodossola, the EW I used here comply with international regulations and are approved for France, albeit probably only on this route.
