In a very rare outing, CFV3V's non-operable Pacific steamer 1.002 stands at Antwerpen Centraal as part of an exhibition train that visits Antwerpen Centraal on 10 and 11 October, this photo beingmade on the 10th. A diverse collection of old and new stock gives a nice impression of 100 years of Belgian railways and was on show at Liége-Guillemins (August) and Schaerbeek (September), albeit without the 1.002. The coaches behind the loco are former Royal Coaches from 1935 thathave been restored and give an impression of a Royal Train.

The 185m long, 64m wide and 44m high platform hall of Antwerpen Centraal was build between 1899 and 1905 6m above the street level. Original it had 10 terminus tracks. Between 1986 and 2007 Antwerpen Centraal was completely renovated and rebuild from a terminus station to a drive through station. Now it has 14 tracks on 3 different levels: 6 terminus tracks on level +1, 4 terminus tracks on level -1 and 4 drive through tracks on level -2. Level 0, the street level, has no tracks, only shops and restaurants. The station has 3 direct connections to metro stations, 2 to station Diamant on the west side of the station and 1 to cross station Astrid on the North side. The station has international connections to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Schiphol Airport, Paris, Lille, Charles de Gaulle Airport, Köln, Dusseldorf, Disneyland Paris. Antwerpen Centraal. 07-09-2026
