SBB KISS in unfamiliar surroundings: the SBB RABe 511 110 will soon reach its destination Le Châble as IR 1745 "Verbier Express". For winter sports traffic, the IR 1745 usually runs from Genève on Saturdays and Sundays with the IR 1711 and is winged in Martigny; On the return journey the train runs as RE 18496 (without stopping between Martigny and Vevey) and is merged with the RE 18460 in Vevey.

The next day the snow is almost gone again and the TGV Lyria (Rame 4719) is waiting in the large Lausanne station hall to depart for Paris Gare de Lyon.

On weekends, a direct train runs from Geneva to Le Châble (Verbier) for winter sports enthusiasts. This year it's the RE33. The photo shows SBB RABe 511 110 passing through Sembrencher shortly before reaching its destination. January 24, 2026 
