On 15 February 2026 DB 218 321 quits Niebüll and passes the form signal post on her journey to Westerland (Sylt). From 1 May 2026 both C;lass 218 haulage and form signal post will have disappeared from Niebüll.

DB 218 397 has coupled herself to a Class 101 with her IC service to Hamburg from Stralsund via Lübeck and Rostock in Lübeck Hbf on 18 February 2026. Due to construction works between Hamburg and Rostock, a detour via Lübeck Hbf was on order -including a change of travel direction and traction, since Lübeck <=> Rostock is still not under the wires. To cut something of the delay, the electric loco stays on the train.
