‘Foreign’ signals and overhead lines quickly give it away: this SBB RABe 512 was not photographed in Switzerland; since the 2025/26 timetable change, the SBB RABe 512 has been reaching Annemasse in France, albeit, like its ‘predecessors’, the SBB RABe 511, only on the single track ‘G’ electrified with 15,000 volts and 16 2/3 Hz. 21 February 2026 
