Coming from Spiez, BLS 465 018 stands with the Golden Pass Panoramic Express dual-gauge train set in Zweisimmen on 1 January 2024. Here, the standard gauge electric will be swap[ped for a narrow gauge MOB machine, that on departure gently takes the train through a gauge changer before continuing toward Gstaadt and Montreux.

The car tunnel trains on the AT1 route (and AT2 in high season) to Kandersteg (or Iselle) can be found photographically in a very awkward place in the Kandersteg train station and are therefore difficult to photograph. However, the route to the tunnel offers good opportunities to photograph the last BLS Re 4/4 in use. I still stayed at Kandersteg train station and was able to photograph the BLS Re 4/4 185 with its car tunnel train in the station. The train is waiting for the BLS RABe 521 to depart as R1 from Domodossola to Bern, in order to then travel as a service train towards Frutigen. Jan 3, 2024

An SBB Re 460 leaves Lausanne with its HVZ IR 90 towards Geneva. In the foreground you can still see a DKW that is no longer in use, but the actual motif is the Bpm in green/gray directly behind the locomotive. Bpm in and of itself are quite rare, and in green/gray they are almost rarely seen in planned use. The car has the UIC number B 50 85 21-73 518-5 CH-SBB. May 17, 2023

Still going strond is BLS 179 at Brig on 1 January 2024. Although she has no duties, her pantograph is raised because the temperatures are sub-zero and catching current from the catenary warms the loco a bit, preventing frost damage.
