Electric locos had a colour scheme based on their traction with green for 3,000 Volt DC, red for 25 kV 50Hz AC and blue for dual system locos -with waist bands varying in colours from light b eige and ivory to desert and dark yelow.

She was the first CSD loco of this design and the dual system code can be sen in the 'ES' (E for 3 kV DC and S for 25 kV, 50 Hz AC) in ES 499 1001.
