DB Class 120 115-1 arriving at Leipzig Central Station May 1st 2017 - The locomotives' prototypes, delivered in 1979 (Mark 120.0), were one of the first electric locomotives with three-phase motors. They were based on experiences made in the 1970s with diesel-electric test platforms (Mark DE 2500/ DB Mark 202). In Norway, a new four-axle Locomotive, Mark El-17, was launched during 1983 with top speeds up to 93 miles per hour (150 km/h).

Mai 2017 – Die Prototypen der Lokomotiven, geliefert 1979 (Baureihe 120.0), gehörten zu den ersten Elektrolokomotiven mit Drehstrommotoren. Sie basierten auf Erfahrungen, die in den 1970er Jahren mit diesel-elektrischen Testplattformen (Baureihe DE 2500/ DB Baureihe 202) gesammelt wurden. In Norwegen wurde 1983 eine neue vierachsige Lokomotive, Baureihe El-17, mit Höchstgeschwindigkeiten von bis zu 150 km/h (93 mph) eingeführt. 

The DBAG Class 145 and DBAG Class 146 are Bo'Bo' mainline electric locomotives built by Adtranz primarily for the Deutsche Bahn at the end of the 1990s.

Between 2000 and 2001, a development for passenger trains with hollow shaft final drive replacing the axle hung drive and a higher top speed of 160 km/h (99 mph) was produced for DB Regio. These locomotives were given the designation DBAG Class 146. An additional 32 were ordered in August 2012.

DB Baureihe 146 564-0 am Hauptbahnhof Leipzig am 1. Mai 2017. Die DBAG Baureihe 145 und DBAG Baureihe 146 sind Bo'Bo'-Hauptstrecken-Elektrolokomotiven, die Ende der 1990er Jahre von Adtranz hauptsächlich für die Deutsche Bahn gebaut wurden. Zwischen 2000 und 2001 wurde für DB Regio eine Weiterentwicklung für Personenzüge mit Hohlwellenendantrieb anstelle des achsgeführten Antriebs und einer höheren Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 160 km/h produziert. Diese Lokomotiven erhielten die Bezeichnung DBAG Baureihe 146. Im August 2012 wurden weitere 32 Stück bestellt. 
