An ICN RABe 500 in the direction of Biel/Bienne is on its way near Ligerz. The remaining single-track route near Ligerz is to give way to a double-track in the tunnel, although the beautiful view of Lake Biel will then be lost. At Schafis, just before Ligerz, the double track of the Jura Foot Line ends from the west. An ICN heading towards Biel/Bienne is just passing this spot. June 19, 2026

At Ligerz, on the last relatively short single-track section of the Jura Foot Line, an SBB ICN RABDe 500 is on its way towards Biel/Bienne. The work for the double-track expansion in the form of a tunnel is already underway, and in a few years it will no longer be possible to photograph trains in this harmonious Biel Lake landscape near Ligerz. On the last, short single-track section of the Jura Foot Line between Twann and Ligerz, an SBB ICN RABDe 500 as IC 51 1612 on its way to Lausanne was photographed with a lot of zoom shortly after Bipschal. August 24, 2026
