DB 218 397 has coupled herself to a Class 101 with her IC service to Hamburg from Stralsund via Lübeck and Rostock in Lübeck Hbf on 18 February 2026. Due to construction works between Hamburg and Rostock, a detour via Lübeck Hbf was on order -including a change of travel direction and traction, since Lübeck <=> Rostock is still not under the wires. To cut something of the delay, the electric loco stays on the train. 

DB 218 321 stannar till i Niebüll en grå 16 februari 2026 som ett av de allra sista IC-tågen mellan Niebüll och Westerland (Sylt) med dragkraft av klass 218. Från och med mars har DB klass 245 tagit över denna trafik och från 1 maj är helt nya tågset kallade ICE-L planerade att ta över långdistansförbindelserna mellan de två platserna. 
