Since the MOB converted its passenger coaches to automatic couplers, the six GDe 4/4 units (numbered 6001–6006) have lost a large portion of their operational scope. Initially, two GDe 4/4 units remained in service hauling panoramic coaches—which had not yet been converted—between Zweisimmen and Lenk; this is illustrated by the accompanying image of MOB GDe 4/4 6003 with a train stabled at Zweisimmen.

A look inside the MOB workshops in Chernex: visible here (though somewhat obscured) is the MOB GDe 4/4 6005, which has now been equipped with an automatic coupler; on the right side of the image is the new ZAGRO E-MAXI (battery-powered), which assists with shunting operations in the MOB workshop area in Chernex.
