Begin 2023, the city authorities of Rome signed a contract with a big Dutch refuse incinerating company at Amsterdam to get rid of hundreds of tonnes household refuse after the closure of a massive refuse belt near the Italian capital. Desperate to get rid of the refuse, Rome went to great lengths -literally- to find a solution. The Dutch incinerator receives on weekdays refuse by train from Italy, hauled by TX Logistics and the empty trains return to Italy, as seen here at Donauwörth.
