DB 218 397 has coupled herself to a Class 101 with her IC service to Hamburg from Stralsund via Lübeck and Rostock in Lübeck Hbf on 18 February 2026. Due to construction works between Hamburg and Rostock, a detour via Lübeck Hbf was on order -including a change of travel direction and traction, since Lübeck <=> Rostock is still not under the wires. To cut something of the delay, the electric loco stays on the train. 

DB 218 321 stopt in Niebüll op een grijze 16 februari 2026 als een van de allerlaatste IC-treinen tussen Niebüll en Westerland (Sylt) met tractie door de Klasse 218. Vanaf maart hebben de DB Klasse 245 deze dienst overgenomen en vanaf 1 mei zijn compleet nieuwe treinstellen genaamd ICE-L gepland om de langeafstandstreinen tussen de twee plaatsen over te nemen. 
