 Long-distance traffic  on the Train de Vignes route: the SBB Flirt3 RABe 523 503  Mouette  (RABe 94 85 0 523 503-6 CH-SBB), which was purchased for long-distance traffic, is running as S7 on the Train de Vignes route between Vevey and Puidoux and is currently driving into the Salanfe Tunnel, which is only 20 meters long, above St-Saphorin.

Shortly before Erstfeld, most trains heading south leave the route of the  old Gotthard  railway and travel through the Gotthard bass tunnel. Since this is currently only in very limited operation, most passenger trains and some freight trains, with a few exceptions, are rerouted via the  old Gotthard railway route , now also called the  Gotthard Panorama route . This means that high-quality passenger trains are safe when passing through Erstfeld Daily life again for a short time. For the vast majority of these services, SBB Giruno RABe 501s are in use, which run in double traction wherever possible. In the picture, the SBB RABe 501 027  Schaffhausen  is in the lead and the 501 010  Basel Land  as IC 10865 from Zurich HB to Lugano passing through Erstfeld.

Due to the partial closure of the Gotthard Base Tunnel (GBT), practically all passenger trains will run on the  Gotthard Panorama  route for a few weeks. In the picture an SBB RABe 501  Giruno  on the way towards Arth Goldau passing through Göschenen.

The two TPF RBDe 560 245 and 235 Domino trains in the  Chocolat Express  colors are on the way from Broc-Farbique to Bern as RE 3825. The picture was taken between Vaulruz and Sâles. Cows graze here, whose milk is probably then used in chocolate.

In July 2016 I found this photo location north of Faido, a little above the Broscerina Tunnel with a view of the 103 meter long Polmengo Bridge, which bridges the Ticino River here. But the joy didn't last long, the opening of the Gotthard Bassis Tunnel was imminent and the journey was too long for me for a  measly  TILO Flirt that only runs every hour. But with the unfortunate derailment of a few freight cars a few kilometers from here, but deep under the mountain, traffic on the  Panorama  route begins to pick up again for a few weeks and I drove to Faido: In the picture is a SBB  Giruno  RABe 501 on the way to Lugano.

The TPF RABe 560 269-3 (94 85 7 560 269-3 CH-SBB) traveling from Bulle to Broc Fabrique as Regio Express RE 4046. The route has hardly changed due to the gauge change, but a kind of  guardrail  separates the standard gauge route from the parallel road.

With the reopening of the Bulle - Broc Fabrique line, trains now run every hour from Bern and Düdignen to Broc, where there is a chocolate factory. Consequently, the TPF now built the Chocolat Express, consisting of an RBDe 560 medium car and an ABt. The picture shows the Chocolat Express on the journey to Bern near Sâles.

Train drivers and travelers enjoy the journey over the Gotthard Railway  Panorama  route on their journey to the south. The two SBB Giruno RABe 501 008  Monte Ceneri  and 006  Kt. Obwalden  were traveling from Zurich to Milano as EC 10315 when I was able to photograph the long train in Faido. A written confirmation from the locomotive driver is available, and a big thank you to Silvio for the information about the Giruno vehicle numbers.

In July 2016 I found a photo location north of Faido, just above the Broscerina Tunnel with a view of the 103 meter long Polmengo Bridge. When I visited the photo location again this year, I went one step further, more precisely, to an abandoned  guardian's house  just before the upper portal of the 1567 meter long Pratotunnel, which, as a 360 ° circular tunnel, overcomes a height difference of a good 40 meters. The picture shows the IC 10667 that is traveling from Basel SBB to Lugano and will reach the Prato circular tunnel immediately behind my back. I was able to photograph the two SBB Giruno RABe 501s again a good two minutes later on the Polmengo Bridge (see image ID 50365). It is precisely experiences like these that make the Gotthard Railway so attractive.
