ON 23 March 2017 BLS 420 504 quits Spiez with a former Swiss-Express train to Interlaken Ost. Awaiting the delivery of new EMUs, BLS bought some Swiss-Express train sets and Re 4/4II of the first batch (11101-1115, recognisable by the single pantographs), recreating these once crack SBB fast trains -albeit in BLS colours and for regional services instead.
