The view looks north from the southernmost train station and shows the FS Trenitalia BUM BTR 813 001 traveling as RV VdA 2718 from Aosta to Torino Porta Nuova. As has often been the case, I chose the route home from the Gotthard via MGB and in Birg I had the opportunity to photograph something not seen here on the Gotthard: the FS Trenitalia ETR 610 008 leaves the Brig train station as EC 39 from Genève to Milano on the way Domodossola.

The NTV .italo ETR 675 008 from Bari Torino leaves Barletta. The train is traveling as .italo 9928 and still has a long and interesting way ahead of it: via Foggia Benevento, Caserta, Roma, Firenze and Milano it goes to Torino. The  detour  is worth it, as it means that far more HGV routes are used than the direct route along the coast.

With the FS Trenitalia BTR 813 (Flirt 3) through the Aosta Valley: Arrived in Aosta! And if you look at the recording data of the pictures, you will see that  my journey  through the Asota Valley took a good two years... And now it's time for the return journey: The bimodular FS Trenitalia BUM BTR 813 003 is waiting in Aosta to leave as a Regionale Veloce VdA 2722 to Torino Porta Nuova. The train can be operated with diesel engines or electrically with 3000 volts direct current, has the axle arrangement Bo' 2'2'2' Bo' and the UIC designation (of the drive module) is 90 83 1813 012-1 I-TI.

About halfway between Chatillon Saint Vincent and Verres, a bi-modular FS Trenitalia BUM BTR 813 is traveling as RV VdA 2722 from Aosta to Torino Porta Nuova and crosses the Dora Baltea river at Borgo.
