On 2 December 2023 SSN organised an extra Kerst-Express (X-Mas Xpress) from Rotterdam to Aachen because the first (schedukled for 16 December) sold out within a week. To accommodate the many disappointed would-be travellers, SSN organised a second Kerst-Express two weeks before the original scheduled one. And so SSN 23 023 finds herself back at Venlo -oddly enough on Track 2 instead of Track 1- where the steamer will be swapped for CentralBahn 110 278 due to works at Mönchengladbach. Traditionally, the VSM hold each first full weekend in September their steam bonanza "Terug naar Toen" (Back to Beyond). Equally traditionally, Rotterdam-based SSN participates enthousiastically with at least two big steamers and a full train set.
